Long Sutton Youth Shed
The Youth Shed is teaching young people to lay bricks over ten weeks. The course is being sponsored by Buildbase which has supplied the tools while D Brown Building Contractor is inviting the students to one of its building sites.
The idea of a Youth Shed was put forward by Councillor Jack Tyrrell over two years ago as a way to teach young school children various construction skills in the hope to set them on the path of a worthwhile job in the construction sector.
As an incentive, the school children will be given a bricklaying tool if they have progressed satisfactorily during each lesson. At the end of the ten-week course provided they have achieved a reasonable level of proficiency they will have obtained a complete set of bricklaying tools.
The Youth Shed are looking for young people who may like to take part in the course. If you're interested, fill in our enquiry form.
