Just a few weeks ago we were asked to refurbish this old cart
With the help of Mike and John, our superb painters, we removed the roof and set to cleaning all the dirt and rust off. Looking at the old wheels we soon realised that they where beyond repair, Dave found some ornamental wheels which, with some reinforcing and wooden bearings, we set to improve them
We used the homemade aliner for the bearings to make the wheels run true
This was made on the wood turning lathe in the men’s shed
John hard at work
He can smile ?
A new clean floor was fitted
Even the underside was painted
We had to trim off some of the old axle
Nearly ready
